NILDS to Engage Humanitarian Affairs’ Minister on Distribution of COVID-19 Palliative.

The National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS) is set for a one-day Web conference on the assessment of Federal Government’s policy on the distribution of COVID-19 palliatives and other humanitarian support.
The virtual engagement is expected to extensively discuss the prospects and challenges encountered in the distribution of the palliative to Nigerians during the lockdown.
According to a statement by the Institute’s Information, Communication and Protocol unit, the objectives of the assessment are: “To review the entire distribution process of the COVID-19 palliative, strengthen the relief distribution mechanism for an enhanced humanitarian emergency preparedness in Nigeria, drive policy change in humanitarian and emergency response, to ascertain the extent of progress made in the school feeding programme during the lockdown and proffer possible solutions to enhance policy implementation”.
The Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman is expected to host the all-important conference, while Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajia Sadiya Umar, Minister of State for Education, Prof. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, Chairman Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, Prof. Bolaji Owasanoye are expected to participate.
Other participants expected are CEO Aliko Dangote Foundation, Ms. Zouera Youssoufou, Secretariat Coordinator Coalition Against COVID -19, Adetokunbo Mumuni and Executive Director Socio-economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) among others.
