Learning Visit: Expanding Frontiers in Education Research- Prof.Sulaiman

The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, (NILDS) Prof.Abubakar Sulaiman has praised the management of Babcock University for exposing its students an interface that allows them understand the difference between classroom theories and what happens in reality in the outside world.

While addressing Students from the University,who traveled all the way from ilishan-Remo to grasp practical knowledge and experience of the workings of the Legislature, and particularly the Institute's modus operandi in building capacity of the legislators and their aides, the DG informed that the Institute has been providing support to legislative committees and legislators on the bill process cycle through Bill Drafting, Bill Analysis, Bill Scrutiny, Brief of argument/lead debates and Bill Tracking.

He reiterated the Institute's demonstration in objectively verifiable ways, its commitment to excellence, capacity to meet its obligations, and its resourcefulness and adaptability to changes in the society, especially as they relate to the functions of the National Assembly

"NILDS is perhaps the only government owned institution established to fundamentally deepen democracy by building capacity of the Legislature and democratic institutions" he informed.
The students were taken through presentations on legislative practice and procedure and more.
