Prof. Abubakar Seeks Greater Engagement with National Assembly Service Commission towards Service Delivery
The Director General, National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, NILDS, Prof. Abubakar Sulaiman, during a courtesy visit to the Secretary, National Assembly Service Commission, Mr. Oluyomi Ajakaiye has informed that the Professional Certificate Programme in Parliamentary Management, a brain Child of the Institute will be implemented in collaboration with the Commission.
Prof. Sulaiman further assured the Secretary of NILDS willingness to collaborate with the Commission to sharpen the skills of its staff through training and other capacity building workshops.
The DG, who noted that the lack of completion of the Institute’s permanent site, an ultra-modern training and conference center is creating a setback for the level of height it hopes to reach, expressed confidence that the completion of the state of the art edifice will be achieved soon so that the impact of work produced at NILDS can generate a resounding effect on strengthening legislatures in Nigeria and Africa sub region as well as deepening democratic governance.
The Secretary, National Assembly Service Commission, on his part assured the Director General of the Commission’s firm support and cooperation whenever needed.
