Hamalai Honoured At Home

In giving honor to whom it is due, the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Prof. Ladi Hamalai has been bestowed with the title of JakadiyaMubi by the Emir of Mubi, Alhaji Abubakar Isa Ahmadu, CFR.

The honor which came in recognition of her contribution to the Mubi community, Adamawa State and the Country at large was conveyed officially through a letter to Prof Hamalai by the Kachalla of Mubi, Alhaji Saidu Jauro Bako.

Her roles as a bridge and Nation builder as well as her contributions to not only the legislative arm of government in Nigeria and parliaments in Africa and sub region but also the development of democratic governance have not gone unnoticed and as the letter indicates, her traditional roles takes immediate effect.

The Emir, in the letter further prayed God to bestow on the Director General, the courage and humility to shoulder the traditional responsibilities required of her title.

In her acceptance, Prof. Ladi Hamalai expressed gratitude to the Emir of Mubi and the Traditional Council for recognizing her modest achievements; she vows not to relent in her contributions to building the entire Mubi community, Adamawa State and Nigeria as a whole.

She further informed that she will perform the ceremony required of her for the new traditional role in due course.
