Institutional Synergy with GTZ Underway
As part of the on-going engagement of critical and relevant stakeholders of Nigeria’s democracy, the German Technical Development Agency GTZ, has assured of institutional synergy between NILDS and GTZ, going forward.
The pledge was made during a courtesy call by the DG, NILDS Prof Sulaiman to the Country Director GTZ, Ina Hommers. Appraising the level of collaboration, Prof. Sulaiman noted that such focused engagements are geared towards the objective of deepening and strengthening Nigeria’s democratic growth.
In her response, Hommers assured that machinery would be put in motion to work out the modalities for greater technical engagement with NILDS. She promised to facilitate a better and mutually beneficial relationship between Nigerian Legislators and their counterparts from the German Parliaments under the aegis of NILDS and GTZ.
Both Chief Executives have agreed on outlined areas of collaboration and interventions, including technical capacity development and improved governance.
Prof. Sulaiman has continued to introduce and implement reform-focused initiatives as part of the critical engagements in his 100 days in office.
