Proficiency in Official Reporting Takes Front Burner as NILDS Trains Staff of Federal and State Legislatures
Recognizing the role of Hansard reporters in producing a verbatim written record of the proceedings of lawmakers in parliaments across the world, the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies organized a 10 day intensive training program for the Official reporters from the National Assembly and the State Houses of Assembly in Nigeria.
The workshops are focused on improving the capacity of the official reporters towards provision of professional service through team work by producing, editing and indexing accurate verbatim reports of Parliamentary proceedings.
The two week long workshop has been divided into numerous sessions, on topics such as Computer Application in Record Management, Parliamentary Communication and Report Writing Skills, Microsoft Office Package and Library Information Management among others.
