NILDS Organizes Legislative Drafting Workshop For Staff Of Bayelsa State Assembly
The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Prof. Ladi Hamalai, while welcoming the legislative staff of the Bayelsa State Assembly to the Institute said that the training on legislative drafting which the Institute offers is key to any legislature; she spoke on the need to have a standard template across all the state legislatures in Nigeria.
The training workshop has its focus on Legislative drafting, a process of turning policy statements into actionable legislation, and it is being convened at the request of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
Objectives of the training which will run from January 28 through to February 1, 2019 include acquainting the drafters with the latest skills in legislative drafting and updating the skills of legislative drafters.
