NILDS/UNIBEN POSTGRADUATE PROGRMMES FOR THE 2018 / 2019 ACADEMIC SESSION
A. THE POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES
The Institute, in affiliation with the University of Benin, invites application from suitably qualified candidates for admission into its NILDS/UNIBEN Postgraduate Programmes
i. PARLIAMENTARY ADMINISTRATION;
ii. LEGISLATIVE STUDIES;
iii. LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING;
iv. MASTERS IN ELECTIONS AND PARTY POLITICS;
v. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN ELECTION AND POLITICAL PARTY MANAGEMENT; AND
vi. POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA IN LEGISLATIVE DRAFTING.
B. Admission Requirements
Parliamentary Administration, Legislative Studies & Elections and Party Politics:
A prospective candidate must have 5 credit passes at the Ordinary Level, including English Language as well as the following:
i. Be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in a relevant area from a recognized university; and
ii. Be a holder of Postgraduate Diploma in a relevant area from a recognized institution with at least 60% CGPA.
In addition to the Ordinary Level requirements as stated above, a prospective candidate must be a holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Law with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division from a recognized University.
Postgraduate Diploma in Election and Party Management
i. In addition to the Ordinary Level requirements as stated above, a prospective candidate must be a holder of Bachelor Degree from a recognised University, not below 3rd Class, in related area;
ii. Higher National Diploma (HND), Upper Credit, from a recognised institution.
iii. Relevant professional qualifications.
C. Duration of Programmes
The duration of the full-time Master’s Degree is a minimum of 4 semesters.
The duration of the full-time Postgraduate Diploma Programmes is a minimum of two (2) semesters.
