Hamalai Tasks Legislative Staff On Legislative Drafting Skills
Committed to building effective and efficient legislatures across State, National and Regional levels, the Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic (NILDS), Prof. Ladi Hamalai, on Monday, October 12, 2018 welcomed the second batch of parliamentary staff of the Delta State House of Assembly who are currently undergoing a one week training workshop in legislative and legal drafting.
While encouraging participants to take full advantage of the opportunity, she informed that the Institute will leave no stone unturned in a bid to achieve the best result in the course of the programme. She added that the essence of the workshop is to allow participants to acquire better knowledge of the technical supports to be provided to parliaments in the process of lawmaking, oversight and representation. Nevertheless, “the workshop will go a long way in sharpening the skills of the parliamentary staff in the areas of parliamentary administration, legislative and legal drafting and official reporting” she stated.
