NILDS CARRIES OUT CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP FOR STAFF OF THE DELTA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY
The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic (NILDS), Prof. Ladi Hamalai (MFR) has commended the leadership of the Delta State House of Assembly for reposing high premium on human capital development in their strategic planning strides. Prof. Hamalai said this on Monday, November 5, 2018 during the opening of the training program at the Institute in Abuja.
She assured that at the end of the workshop, the participants would among other gains, “have better knowledge of the technical supports to be provided to parliaments in the process of lawmaking, oversight and representation”.
She further charged the participants to take advantage of the training opportunity to improve their understanding of the workings of Committees, budget planning, monitoring and evaluation; not neglecting also the role of critical stakeholders in legislative Public Hearing, Petitions and Investigations.
The workshop which will go a long way in sharpening the skills of the parliamentary staff in the areas of parliamentary administration, legislative and legal drafting and official reporting is scheduled to run in batches till November 23.
