Committee Visits Orientation Agency Ahead Of 2019 NILDS Quiz Competition
As a way of sensitization towards the 4th Edition of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies’ Quiz on the Legislature for Secondary Schools in Abuja, members of the planning committee set up by the Director General of the Institute, Prof. Ladi Hamalai led by the Institute’s Director, Democratic Studies, Professor Femi Ajayi paid a courtesy visit to the Director General of The National Orientation Agency, Dr. Garba Abari in his office recently.
While briefing the NOA DG, Prof. Ajayi informed that the Quiz is a noble idea of NILDS under the able leadership of the Institute’s Director General, Professor Ladi Hamalai targeted at inculcating the Legislative Studies and knowledge in pupils, he further said that the Institute has organized three editions so far and hopes that the 4th edition and the ones to follow would be further promoted by the National Orientation Agency.
In his address, the Director, Finance and Administration at the Institute and member of the committee, Dr. Kabir Ahmed said that NOA has been a reliable partner of NILDS and believes the Director General will personally attend the Quiz Competition and project its importance among stakeholders.
While responding, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency said that the agency, apart from communicating government’s policy and staying abreast of public opinion, it is also an advocate for doing the right thing and transforming Nigeria.
Against this backdrop, he assures the committee that the NILDS Quiz Competition which is a developmental project will get the support of NOA.
The 2019 NILDS Quiz Competition for Secondary Schools in the FCT will hold the zonal competition in Eight zones of the FCT while the Final will take place at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja in January, 2019.
