A 4-Day Regional Training Workshop for Parliamentary Staff of ECOWAS Member States is billed to hold in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city, on Monday, the 3rd of July 2017.

The Regional Training Workshop with the theme: Translating Policy into Legislation: Techniques for Drafting Legislative Bills is designed to cater for the interest of target participants, in recognition of institutional capacity development differences of parliaments across the West Africa sub-region.

The workshop is intended to equip participants with the skills of translating policies into legislation, improve their knowledge of policy formulation, enhance their understanding of legislative practice and procedure and ultimately, lead to quality legislation in ECOWAS sub-region.

A total of 60 participants, drawn from the National Parliaments of ECOWAS member states, the Nigeria’s’ National Assembly, the ECOWAS Parliament, the National Institute for Legislative Studies as well as delegates from the 6 Geo-political zones across Nigeria, are expected at the training programme between 3rd July and 6th July 2017.

The workshop, is the fourth in the series of training programmes planned for parliamentary staff under the Extension of NILS-CAP 1, with financial support from the African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF).
